We realize that many of you are awesome supporters of our brewery and most likely know everyone in our very small staff. BUT, for those of you that maybe haven’t seen all the faces here, and even for those of you who do…. we want to introduce you to each person. Maybe find out a few things you never knew and a bit more about what they enjoy outside of the brewing world.
So to start the series we are going to begin with the lady that keeps us all on our toes and the brewery running smoothly (much of it behind the scenes)…. co-owner, Ting Su.
When asked the following questions, here were Ting’s entertaining replies.
1] So what do you do here at Eagle Rock Brewery anyway?
A bit of everything… Manage day-to-day operations of the taproom, bookkeeping, scheduling/coordinating taproom (and all other) events, purchasing, merchandising, beer drinking, and giving the stink-eye to everyone and anyone who needs it…
2] What’s your favorite activity outside of work?
Leaving town… It’s the only possibility that I’m not drawn into work in some way, shape, or form. I love love love going snowboarding, for hikes, and kicking it with my family and friends.
3] What’s your best memory from your time here at the brewery? Annnnnd Go!
Wow, too many to count! First brew day, first keg EVER released at Verdugo Bar, opening our doors, Anniversary events, freaking out at how many people showed up to the first women’s forum, every time we get to bring someone new into our family… it goes on!
4] What would be your desert island food and beer?
one of everything on the menu
5] Superpower you want to have?
To be able to clone myself at will and teleportation… Oh! And to be able to eat and drink the way that I do without gaining weight!
6] If money were no option and science didn’t matter; what kind of beer would you make?
The same beer that we’re making now… Yes, I love our beers and wouldn’t have it any other way.
7] If you could get rid of all of the songs from a particular singer, whose would you delete and why?
Bahahaha! To avoid being a dick I’ll hold my tongue…
8] What’s the best place you’ve traveled and the strangest thing you saw while there?
I’ve traveled a lot and love traveling so this is a tough one. I once saw a family of 4 riding on a single moped (scooter) in Indonesia though…. It was pretty amazing.
9] Top three favorite breweries (besides where you work) and why?
1. Logsdon Farmhouse Ales – because their stuff is SO interesting and I’m loving what they’re doing right now. 2. Craftsman Brewing – because the people there are RAD and they’re my homies. And because they have set a high bar for craft brewing in LA. All the respect and love for them. 3. Kern River Brewing Company – Because those guys are amazing and I’ve never had one of their beers that wasn’t excellent!

I’m pretty sure he’s hiding where the sun don’t shine… Or maybe in our fermentor with the FUNK! They may be one in the same…
