We’re excited to announce our next class in our Beer Education Series. The next class will be about malts: one of the main ingredients in the beer making process. Join us in exploring the characteristics of a variety of malts and learn about how this grain is used to make your favorite beers the way that they are!
The class will take place in our taproom from 7p-9p on Tuesday, February 16, 2010. Attendance is limited to 30 people, so be sure to register soon! Even those of you who had requested to be on a wait list previously need to register ASAP, as we cannot hold spots for the classes without confirmation that you are interested in the particular topic of discussion. To register, simply go to our online store (www.shop.eaglerockbrewery.com). Cost of the class is $30 and includes all course materials. Registration fees are non-refundable so please be sure that you will be able to attend prior to signing up.
Starting tonight: 20% of proceeds from sales of Revolution XPA in our taproom will be donated to help the victims of the devastating earthquake in Haiti. Do your part, come out and have a beer! Just email firstname.lastname@example.org for a reservation. Reservations are available on Friday, Saturday, Sunday 4p-10p. Cheers!
Tonight, The 5th Amendment Alehouse in Santa Monica, will be hosting a meet the brewer night featuring Eagle Rock Brewery! Jeremy will be there from around 5:00 – 8:00 pm to talk about malt, hops, yeast, brewing, and all other beer-related things. Word on the street is that our Revolution XPA might also make a special appearance…
The 5th Amendment is currently the only place carrying our beers on the west-side of town, so if you have an aversion to traveling east of La Cienega, this is your chance to stop in for a pint and say “hi”. See you there!
Interested in checking out the space? Come in for a brewery tour! We’ve got openings on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 4p-10p. Just email email@example.com with your name, time you’d like to come in and how many are in your party. Hope to see ya’ll in the taproom soon. Cheers!
This year, we’re proud to announce that the winner of the competition will get to brew a big batch of their beer right here at Eagle Rock Brewery! It will be interesting to see how creative the competition gets this year, and also challenging to re-create one of those specialized, small recipes on a large scale.
My dad and I have a few medals from past years of this competition, so it’s really exciting to be able to give back to this event, and to the cause for creative brewing.
Good luck to everyone, and we look forward to sharing the results…Cheers!
We’ve filled all the spaces in the upcoming Learning to Evaluate Beer class. We do currently have a wait list available in case anyone is unable to make it. Just email firstname.lastname@example.org for details. Also, stay tuned for more on our next class!
In the interest of improving beer awareness in Los Angeles, we’re planning a very exciting new project! Starting on January 14th we’ll be hosting a monthly beer-education series, where people who are interested in learning more about beer can sign up to attend. Subjects will vary from month to month and will cover various aspects of beer appreciation, tasting, and brewing.
Our first class will be “Learning to Evaluate Beer” and will cover the basics on how to assess the flavor and aroma characteristics of beers. Attendees will learn from Beer Judges how to break down a beer into basic flavor components, including how to identify “off-flavors” and their potential causes. There will be some discussion of the brewing process as it pertains to the flavor characteristics introduced, but our focus will remain on basic evaluation ideas and techniques.
The cost of the course is $30 per person and will include all necessary materials and beer samples.
We are limiting the number of attendees to the first 28 people, so RSVP soon to save yourself a seat! Just email email@example.com.
