Women’s Beer Forum: Chillax with some BEER FLOATS!

Hey ladies!

It’s almost that time again, and it’s turning into a toasty warm summer…. which makes me think that it’s time for a cold treat! This month’s Women’s Beer Forum will be all about BEER FLOATS!

If you haven’t tried them before, you’ve been missing out. Yeah, yeah, I know that some of you may be thinking that it’s really weird or perhaps kinda gross. However, with the right flavor of ice cream and just the right style of beer, these are some pretty amazing combinations!

Come out for some beer floats this month and try it for yourself!  I’ll be working with a local ice cream maker to get the perfect combinations, but I’m thinking 4 flavors of ice cream, 4 beers and a great time with your favorite girl friends! It’s a sweet deal for just $18! Don’t miss it!

The event will be held at the brewery on Wednesday, 7/18/12, from 7p-9p. Please rsvp on the website so that I’m sure to get enough ice cream for all the girls. Hope to see y’all there!

Cheers!

Women’s Beer Forum: Field Trip!

Hey ladies!

I’m super excited to share the topic of the next Women’s Beer Forum! We’re taking our project out on the (old) town and taking over Kings Row in Old Town Pasadena.

I’ll be partnering up with Brady Weise, bartender extraordinaire from 1886 and Dog Haus, to present a flight of specialty cocktails that feature our favorite beverage… BEER! And no, it’s not going to be the nasty concoctions that often come to mind when people talk about beer cocktails, nor is it just a way to mask the true colors of the beer. You’ll have to check it out to taste Brady’s mastery of this art for yourself!

The crew over at Kings Row are kind enough to give us our own space in the pub and make their entire delicious menu available to order from, so be sure to arrive both hungry and thirsty!

The next women’s forum will be on Wednesday, June 20, and will start at 7p. The price of the event will be $20 and will include a flight of amazing cocktails, a flight sheet to tell you about what you’re drinking, an opportunity to watch Brady work his magic, and of course some QT with your favorite homegirls in an AWESOME gastropub.

Space is limited so be sure to RSVP soon! Trust me, you don’t wanna miss this one! Hope to see you all there!

Cheers!

Women’s Beer Forum: Celebrating American Craft Beer

Hey ladies!

The women’s beer forum at the brewery is on Wednesday 5/16/12 this month.

It’s American Craft Beer week from 5/14/12-5/20/12 and we’re celebrating by paying homage to the breweries that helped to shape the current craft beer culture in America. Come explore and discuss some of the beers that taught America that beer can not only have a whole lot of flavor, but also push the boundaries of traditional styles to create a whole new spectrum of flavors.

We’re celebrating beers that, in true American style, pushed the envelope to allow for the recent explosion in new styles, reinterpretations of tradition, and refreshingly unique products. We wouldn’t be here (and your palates wouldn’t have been as happy) if not for the trailblazers in the craft beer industry, so come out and celebrate!

We’ll have a woman-owned food truck out here as usual, so be sure to come hungry and thirsty.

We’ll start at around 7p. The cost will be $14 and will include a flight of beers, a flight sheet, a little bit of craft beer education, and a whole lot of time with your favorite girlfriends. Hope to see you all there!

Cheers!

Women’s Forum: 1-year Anniversary

Hey ladies!

It’s that time again and this month is a very special month because it’s the 1-year anniversary of Eagle Rock Brewery’s Women’s Forum. This is a very special session, because after all those times that I’ve teased you all with how fun it is to set up pairings, you’re going to join me in setting those up!

Jessica Christensen from City Tavern is bringing the food to the table and I’ve got the beers! Together, we’re all going to explore how beer and food pairings are set up. We’ll have a bunch of different food items and a bunch of different beers and we’ll discuss how to figure out which beer to pick with the foods you’ll be serving.

Excited yet? I know I am! I can’t wait to share all these potential combinations, and for you to meet Jessica! She’s ah-mazing and this is a special women’s forum that you won’t want to miss!  The Forum will be on Wednesday 3/21/2012, from 6:30p-9p. The cost to attend will be $16, and includes a flight of beers, samples of various foods, a flight sheet, and some quality time with all your favorite girlfriends to discuss the intricacies of pairing beers and foods.

Come join me in celebrating a year of forums, and cheers to many more to come (because I’ve got ideas for days!)!

Since there is a lot of preparation of food involved in this forum, please be sure to rsvp for it on the website, so that we can make sure to have enough food and beer for everyone. Thanks and looking forward to seeing you all there!

Cheers!

Women’s Beer Forum: Celebration

Hey ladies!

‘Tis the season for celebration! Whether you’re celebrating with your family, your friends, your co-workers, or just celebrating life, it’s always more festive with a proper beer! Come and get some ideas for delicious beers to use during the upcoming holiday parties, get gift ideas to your favorite beer drinkers, or just to have a little time to enjoy yourself before the holiday madness. Whatever the reason, this is a really fun flight of some of my favorite beers that you won’t want to miss.

A flight of beers worth celebrating: since we had a flight of holiday beers in October, this flight will not be Christmas beers, but rather an exploration of great beers that are perfect to give as gifts and to use at all types of celebrations! We’ll explore a variety of styles of beers, all of which are very special and perfect to share with or gift to your loved ones during the holidays or any celebration!

The cost will be $12 and includes a flight of these delicious beers, a flight sheet and of course some QT with your favorite beer drinking girlfriends! Also, since some of these beers are pretty strong, we’re pairing up with a female-owned food truck so be sure to come thirsty and hungry. Hope to see you all there!

Cheers!
