We realize that many of you are awesome supporters of our brewery and most likely know everyone in our very small staff. BUT, for those of you that maybe haven’t seen all the faces here, and even for those of you who do…. we want to introduce you to each person. Maybe find out a few things you never knew and a bit more about what they enjoy outside of the brewing world.
So to continue the series we are going to tell you about the beard behind the amazing posters, labels, casks…..basically all things beautiful in beer here at Eagle Rock: Andrew Bakofsky.
When asked the following questions, here were Andrew’s witty replies.
1] So what do you do here at Eagle Rock Brewery anyway?
Professor of Custodial Sciences I’m told…as well as assist in the brewhouse, pour beers, design our packaging & marketing things…scrub what no one else wants to.
2] What’s your favorite activity outside of work?
Cooking, Hiking-ish with the lady, finding random LA things…porch beers.
3] What’s your best memory from your time here at the brewery? Annnnnd Go!
Probably anything that involved Grill’m All…or seeing all the folks that came to our Permit Hearing (for the sentimental touch).
4] What would be your desert island food and beer?
Beer stolen from Lee’s fridge, Goldfish crackers.
5] Superpower you want to have?
Green Lantern seems to have a pretty good setup…but without needing jewelry would be good (nor the tights). That or mind bullets.
6] If money were no option and science didn’t matter; what kind of beer would you make?
one that didn’t give you a gut or hangover, and made you wake up refreshed (and no, not Michelob Ultra, a good one)
7] If you could get rid of all of the songs from a particular singer, whose would you delete and why?
since Lee already took care of the Beatles problem, I’ll go with Morrissey.
8] What’s the best place you’ve traveled and the strangest thing you saw while there?
Prague. Drug dealer train station fiend threatening to remove my friends voicebox…next to some oozing bandaged refugee kid.
9] Top three favorite breweries (besides where you work) and why?
Alesmith, Kern River & Shinerbock (Spoetzl Brewery, my gateway beer many moons ago)
